The driver said: The fare is on the meter, and Tariq stepped out happily.

We use this sentence to specify our requested destination to the driver.
The city center is the main place for shops and offices.

We can also change the place according to need.
Such as: To the airport or to the hotel, please.
The question "Is this the fastest route?" we ask about time.
We ask with this sentence to know the best route without delay.
Example: I have an appointment, is this the fastest route?

Example: In front of the library door, stop here, please.
The driver then stops safely on the side of the road.
The question "How much is the fare, please?" we ask when paying money.
We ask this question to know the required amount before getting out.
Example: We arrived now, how much is the fare, please?
In many cities, the fare is on the meter.
Paying money politely leaves a good impression with the driver.
And the word "thank you" at the end completes this kindness.
